How it works
The laser's light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted to heat, which deactivates the follicle so the hair stops growing. Since only hairs in their active growth phase respond at each session, a course of 6–8 treatments a few weeks apart gives a complete result – with each session leaving the area smoother than the last.
Preparation matters: shave 1–2 days before, never wax between sessions, and keep the area out of the sun for a few weeks before and after. Autumn and winter are ideal for starting a course – a full series fits comfortably before summer.
Why one session is never enough
Hair grows in three phases, and the laser only reaches follicles in their active growth phase – resting follicles hold no pigment, so the light passes them by. Each visit therefore catches a different portion of the hairs as they cycle into growth. That is the whole reason a course of 6–8 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, is needed for a complete result. How many you need in the end varies with the individual, the body area and hormonal factors – we map this out at your consultation and adjust as the series progresses.
"Permanent" – an honest definition
The correct term is permanent hair reduction, not removal forever – and we think you should hear that before you book, not after. Every follicle we deactivate in its growth phase is gone for good. But hormonal changes – pregnancy, menopause – can wake previously dormant follicles and produce entirely new hairs in the area. What we reduce stays reduced; no clinic can honestly guarantee you will never see a new hair again.

Facial hair – including hormonal chin and upper-lip hair that many women know well – is one of our most requested treatments, with sessions from ten minutes. Whatever the area, the laser settings are adjusted to your skin and hair type at the first visit.
Before and after your session
Before: shave the area 1–2 days ahead (never wax, epilate or pluck between sessions – the follicle must stay in place for the laser to have a target), avoid sun, solarium and self-tan for a few weeks, and arrive with clean, product-free skin. After: the skin can be lightly flushed and warm for a short while. Skip sun, hard training and hot baths for a day or two, and use sun protection on treated areas for the following weeks – results build gradually, with hair growing back sparser and finer after every session.
Light, grey or red hair – our honest limits
The laser targets pigment, so blonde, grey, white and red hairs cannot be treated effectively – they simply lack the melanin the light needs. We say this plainly at the consultation rather than selling you a course that will not work. Dark hair against lighter skin responds best; at your consultation we assess your combination honestly and tell you what result you can realistically expect.

Does it work on my hair and skin type?
The laser targets pigment, so it works best on dark hair – ideally against lighter skin. Blonde, grey, red and white hairs lack the pigment needed and cannot be treated effectively. We assess your hair and skin type honestly at a consultation.
How should I prepare?
