Chemical peel in Stockholm – controlled renewal
Acid peels tailored to your skin – for a more even tone, fewer breakouts and lasting glow. Performed by registered nurses and doctors in central Stockholm.
How it works
A chemical peel is one of the most classic and effective ways to renew the skin's surface. Acids dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells so they shed in a controlled way, revealing smoother, brighter skin – while stimulating cell renewal from within. It is most often done on the face, but the neck and body can be treated too.
There is not one peel but several, and the right one depends on your skin: AHA acids (glycolic, mandelic) for a superficial refresh, glow and more even tone; BHA/salicylic acid, which works down into the pores and suits oily, congested and acne-prone skin; and TCA in 12 or 20% strength – a medium-depth peel for more pronounced concerns such as acne scars, sun damage, pigmentation and deeper lines. For those who want depth without visible flaking, we also offer TCA-based no-peel options such as PRX-T33 (1 990 SEK) and BioRePeel (from 1 490 SEK for the face).
At your consultation – held in English whenever you prefer – we assess your skin, choose acid and strength, and often start gently at the first session before stepping up. A consultation never involves any obligation to book treatment.
Before and after
Immediately after a peel the skin is usually lightly rosy and fresh, much like after a mild day in the sun. With stronger peels, the skin may flake for a few days before the new, more even surface appears. The full effect on glow, tone and pigmentation builds over the weeks that follow and is clearest after a series of treatments. We are happy to show before and after photos from previous treatments at your consultation.
Aftercare decides the result: use a high-SPF sunscreen and avoid direct sun for the first days, skip strong acids, retinol and scrubs until the skin has settled, and never pick at flaking skin.

Chemical peel – FAQ
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel uses acids – such as AHA, BHA or TCA – to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells so they shed in a controlled way. This reveals smoother, fresher skin and stimulates cell renewal from within. Unlike a mechanical scrub, which wears at the surface, a peel works evenly and at depth.
What does a chemical peel help with?
Uneven skin tone and dullness, breakouts and acne-prone skin, pigmentation spots, fine lines and enlarged pores. The acid type and strength are always matched to your skin and your goals – there is no one-size-fits-all peel.
Will my skin peel afterwards?
It depends on the strength. Superficial peels leave you slightly rosy, as after a day in the sun, with essentially no downtime. Stronger peels such as TCA can cause visible flaking on days 2–4 before the new, more even skin appears. Never pick or pull at flaking skin – let it come away naturally.
Does a chemical peel hurt?
While the acid works you may feel a light stinging or prickling sensation, which usually settles within minutes. Stronger peels are felt more than mild ones, but most patients find the treatment entirely manageable.
How often should you have a chemical peel?
For the best results we usually recommend a series of treatments a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance. Mild peels can be repeated more often than strong ones – a deeper TCA peel is typically done as a course of 1–3 sessions at least a month apart. We plan a schedule around your skin at the consultation.
What does a chemical peel cost in Stockholm?
At Akademiderm: 1 290 SEK per treatment, with type and strength tailored to your skin. A deeper TCA peel (12 or 20%) costs 1 690 SEK, and the TCA + microneedling package 2 990 SEK. The right option is chosen at your consultation, and the price is confirmed before treatment.
